Before making this beautiful contemporary memorial ring in memory of Karen, we were totally unaware that Epilepsy is one of the top-ten causes of early death.
Linda's daughter Karen was 36 yrs old when she sadly passed away in her sleep, from Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy or SUDEP, as it is also known as.
Linda chose a round cabochon Amethyst, as Purple is the colour that represents epilepsy.
This trend was started in 2008 by a little girl called Cassidy Megan from Canada, Purple Day® is a grassroots campaign dedicated to increasing the awareness of epilepsy worldwide. On March 26th, people from around the world are invited to wear purple, to help spread the word about epilepsy.
This handmade 9ct yellow gold Amethyst memorial ring, was remodelled from sentimental gold. With a glass window at the back of the setting, containing a lock of Karen's golden hair. The inside of the shank was laser engraved with Karen's initials.
Linda's words: I am so delighted with my memorial ring. I am able to keep a little piece of my daughter with me forever. What lovely people, nothing too much trouble.
At LuLu & Charles Jewellery we aim to create beautiful and unique heirloom quality pieces of memorial jewellery, to help the wearer feel connected to the one they have lost, a tangible piece of quality memorial jewellery to hold close, incorporating sentiments of love and loss to commemorate a precious loved one.
If there is anything in particular you would like to talk to us about, with regards to a commission for a piece of bespoke memorial jewellery, containing hair or cremation ashes, please don't be afraid to get in touch via our contact page, we’re always happy to help.
