Handmade 9ct Yellow Gold Watch Buckle
This bespoke watch buckle was handmade in solid 9ct yellow gold for a client’s personal timepiece. Designed and made from scratch, it was created to suit the watch perfectly, both in size and in style, hallmarked by Birmingham assay office.
Rather than using an off-the-shelf gold plated buckle fitting, our client wanted something to match the quality of the watch itself.
The buckle was designed specifically for the client’s strap and watch case. Every measurement was taken carefully so the proportions felt right and the buckle sat comfortably on the wrist. Small details, like the curve, thickness, and pin placement, were adjusted by hand as the piece came together.
This kind of work allows for subtle changes along the way, something you simply don’t get with mass produced parts.
The buckle was made entirely by hand using solid 9ct yellow gold. Yellow gold remains a classic choice for vintage classic watches.
Traditional bench techniques were used throughout the process, from shaping and soldering to final finishing. The aim was a clean, well-balanced piece that feels right when worn every day.
