Before making this beautiful contemporary memorial ring in memory of Karen, we were totally unaware that Epilepsy is one of the top-ten causes of early death.
Linda’s daughter Karen was 36 yrs old when she sadly passed away in her sleep, from Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy or SUDEP, as it is also known as.
Linda chose a round cabochon Amethyst, as Purple is the colour that represents epilepsy.
This trend was started in 2008 by a little girl called Cassidy Megan from Canada, Purple Day® is a grassroots campaign dedicated to increasing the awareness of epilepsy worldwide. On March 26th, people from around the world are invited to wear purple, to help spread the word about epilepsy.
This handmade 9ct yellow gold Amethyst memorial ring, was remodelled from sentimental gold. With a glass window at the back of the setting, containing a lock of Karen’s golden hair. The inside of the shank was laser engraved with Karen’s initials.
Linda’s words: I am so delighted with my memorial ring. I am able to keep a little piece of my daughter with me forever. What lovely people, nothing too much trouble.
