Behind every great business is a great love story.
For Valentines this year, I thought I’d furnish you with our LOVE story (in a nutshell).
We met in 1995, whilst Ashley was working for my Dad, as a jewellery finisher at Christopher James Jewellers of the Metro Centre, Gateshead. In May 1999 we shared a kiss one sunny Bank Holiday and the rest is history.
Needless to say, dating the bosses daughter was never going to be plain sailing…. however we lasted the test of time and tied the knot in Las Vegas in 2009.
Here we are looking rather young.
Fast forward to 2018, we have three boys and run our own business called ‘LuLu & Charles Jewellery’.
We never intended on working alongside each other or running a business together, in fact it was totally unplanned… Ashley was made redundant following the closure of Christoper James Jewellers, so we nervously joined forces and set up on our own.
Since then it’s been our dream to create Jewellery that tells a story.
Designing jewellery to symbolise friendship, family & remembrance…. but most of all LOVE!
We offer a number of services to our customers, including a bespoke commissions for all occasions, remodelling & refurbishment service, wedding ring service & bespoke memorial jewellery.
Alongside this we also design & hand make jewellery to add to our online collection, designed & handmade with love from our County Durham workshop.
I must admit, I love working alongside Ashley, it’s never a dull moment, we have got to know each other on a completely different level. We both have our own strengths & weaknesses, but I suppose that’s what makes us spark.
